Pakistan U19s Defeat Afghan U19s in Dubai Under-19s World Cup 2024
Pakistan Under-19s defeated Afghanistan Under-19s by 11 runs in a Group A match of the Dubai Under-19s World Cup 2024 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on December 11, 2023.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Pakistan Under-19s scored 181 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Opener Haseebullah Khan top-scored for Pakistan with a well-compiled 64 runs off 83 balls, while skipper Qasim Akram contributed 34 runs down the order.
In response, Afghanistan Under-19s were bowled out for 170 runs in 48.1 overs, falling short of their target by 11 runs. Noor Ahmad was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan, taking four wickets for 27 runs in his 10 overs.
With this victory, Pakistan Under-19s have kept their hopes alive of qualifying for the Super League stage of the tournament. They will next face England Under-19s on December 14, while Afghanistan Under-19s will take on Zimbabwe Under-19s on December 15.
